I’ll be honest with you… I wish I knew this sooner.
For years, I scrolled Instagram on my $1000 iPhone, posting here and there, but never making a dime. I thought Instagram was just a place to share pictures and maybe connect with other moms. What I didn’t realize was that it could actually be a business—one that works in the background while I homeschool, work, or spend time with my family.
The secret? Digital products and something called ghost commerce.
Digital products are anything you can create once and sell over and over without shipping or inventory. Think:
Journals and planners
Templates and checklists
eBooks and guides
Audiobooks or digital courses
They’re perfect for busy moms like me because you can build them around what you’re already passionate about—fitness tips, parenting hacks, meal plans, mindset, or anything else that lights you up.
Here’s where it gets even better.
Ghost commerce is like running a business without having to “show up” the traditional way. You don’t have to create your own products from scratch, stock inventory, or even show your face if you don’t want to.
Instead, you:
Partner with companies or creators who already have products ready to sell.
Share them on your Instagram (through posts, reels, or stories).
Earn a commission—or keep 100% profit if you’re using MRR (Master Resell Rights) or PLR (Private Label Rights) digital products.
It’s called “ghost” because you’re working behind the scenes. People see the value you share, but they don’t see you stressing about shipping labels or late-night product development. You literally get to work anywhere.
Here’s what worked for me (and what you can do too):
Talk About What You Love
I started posting simple content about things I was already passionate
about. It could be homeschool hacks, faith, mindset tips, or even
wellness routines.
Use Canva for Simple Digital Products
Canva was a lifesaver. I designed journals, planners, and templates in minutes—no fancy design skills required.
Leverage Ghost Commerce
When I didn’t have time to make something from scratch, I used
done-for-you products with resell rights. I could rebrand them and sell
them as my own, keeping the profit.
Host It Online
I used free tools like Systeme.io and Beacons to create a simple “shop
page.” This way, people could buy my products anytime—even while I
slept.
Post Reels with a Purpose
Instead of random posts, I created 5–7 reels that shared my story,
explained the problem my product solved, and gave people a reason to
take action.
Yes. And not just for me.
Digital products and ghost commerce have helped everyday people (not influencers, not experts—just regular moms like us) create real income online. According to Forbes, the digital product industry is expected to hit $1.5 trillion by 2030.
That’s not a trend—that’s a massive shift.
